Alternator spare parts
What is a car alternator?
An alternator plays an important role in the operation of your car. This is the element that supplies electric current through the battery to allow the vehicle to start.
How does the alternator work?
The car alternator is based on a simple operating principle. When the engine is running, it rotates the coil via the alternator belt and creates electrical current. You should know that this coil rotates around a magnet, thanks to which this whole mechanism is possible. Indeed, while moving, the magnet moves the electrons on the copper atoms using a magnetic field. Furthermore, it is also the alternator which provides electricity to the car when it is driving. This electricity is used to power vehicle equipment such as the radio, dashboard, lighting and even air conditioning.
What to do in the event of an alternator failure?
The alternator failure is manifested by the permanent lighting of the battery warning light on the dashboard. This can also be manifested by the low intensity of the headlight lights or by a noise under the hood due to belt wear. In all cases, checking the alternator components is essential. If one of the parts is faulty, it must be replaced with an identical model. That said, be aware that the breakdown can come from different elements of the alternator, in particular the belt which operates the entire mechanism. To avoid this, it must not be too stiff or too soft. On the other hand, it may also be too worn and tear, thus producing a noise which will inevitably be heard by the driver.
In the event of a malfunction of the alternator, the only solution is to change the defective part which is causing it. To find good quality ones, browse our selection of alternator spare parts. You will undoubtedly find the part you need.
