Cheap battery terminals
Cheap battery terminals
Battery terminals are essential elements for the circulation of energy and therefore for the proper functioning of a vehicle.
What are battery terminals?
The terminal of a battery is similar to a metal part which is used to connect a cable to two parts of electrical equipment. The accessory ensures the circulation of current between the two parts of the equipment.
For an automobile battery, the terminals allow the electrical system of a car to be supplied via the power cable. They also ensure the circulation of current by connecting the negative terminal of the battery to a metal part of the vehicle which serves as a conductor of electricity.
What are the different types of cheap battery terminals?
The market offers 3 types of battery terminals characterized by their attachment system to the battery terminals:
- Metal lugs with lateral tightening by nut on a rod threaded. The positive cable and the negative cable are screwed or bolted to the lugs. The + and – acronyms are thus melted into the metal of the terminals.
- The claw terminals which stand out with a red plastic cabochon for the positive pole and green for the negative pole. They have a wing nut that tightens the lug.
- The quick release terminals have a blue insulating plastic tilting cover for the negative and red for the positive pole. This cover is used to tighten the terminal by a simple tilting.
- The third is the quick release terminal . It has a tilting cover made of insulating plastic, red for the positive pole, blue for the negative, allowing tightening by simply tilting the cover. The positive and negative cables are fixed by screwing them to the conductive part of the terminal.
