To connect the wires of your equipment and accessories, choose the right connectors. Among its connecting parts are the junction sleeves. The junction sleeves present on our site are varied and available at any time.
The junction sleeve is a small metal or heat-shrinkable plastic element which is used to connect two wires together. The junction sleeve is in the form of a cylindrical tube with two inlets. All you have to do is insert the wires at the end of the tube and then tighten them using special pliers. It is a basic type of butt fitting, very practical for facilitating electrical wire connections without loss of current. It has a hole in the middle to check the correct position of the wires and to facilitate crimping the wires. They are made of metal tube generally with a tinned finish for better conduction. They may contain a product that prevents the oxidation of the wires.
There are a multitude of junction sleeves depending on the type of wires you want to connect. The junction sleeves can be of different sizes and of various diameters. Indeed, depending on the size of the wire, you must have the appropriate junction sleeve. We offer sleeves in different sizes 2.5mm to 20mm. The sleeve can also be made from various materials. It is most often found in copper, aluminum, but also in heat-weldable and heat-shrinkable plastic. Metal sleeves remain the sleeves that guarantee you a perfect, very solid connection and are excellent conductors. A sleeve can also be made of two types of metal, for example aluminum and copper, for connecting aluminum and copper wire.
The size, quality and material of the junction sleeve are important. You must also choose a sleeve adapted to your wires and the sleeve which will be most suitable. There are subcategories of sleeves depending on the shape and type of junction. The sleeve categories are:
- Insulated and non-insulated junction sleeve
- Crimp junction sleeve
- Heat-weldable and heat-refractable junction sleeve
- Junction sleeve to punch
- Aluminum and copper junction sleeve
Connecting wire using a sleeve is very easy and will only take a few minutes. To begin, you will need to strip the soldering wires. They must be stripped to a good length so that they do not protrude beyond the sleeve. If your wires are covered with a layer of insulation, you must solder them with tin. Place the wires in the cylinder then using crimping pliers, apply pressure to tighten the sleeve on itself. If it is a thermosetting sleeve, carry out the same operations, and heat the sheath until it shrinks on itself. Pull on the threads to check the correct fit. However, you must not leave bare wires visible in order to avoid short circuits.
