An electronic relay is a kind of switch inside which an electrical phenomenon (current or voltage) is used to manage the on/off switching of a mechanical device (case of electromechanical relays) or a device electronic (case of static relays) thanks to the presence of a coil and an electromagnet. The main characteristic of the relay lies in the fact that the power part is dissociated from the control part and this thus allows the opening and closing of an electrical circuit via a second completely isolated circuit.
With regard to the automotive sector, the relays used are part of what are called relays powered by TBT or Very Low Voltage, that is to say they are powered by direct current months of 12 V, 14, V or 48 V.
We can distinguish several types of contacts: a switching system composed of one or more single-acting switches, called normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) contacts or composed of one or more reversers (Repos contacts -Work either RT). Some relays can create a delay when switching on (on delay) or when releasing (delay delay).
- Monostable operation: when the coil is powered, contact is made at the internal switch and when power is cut to the coil, the contacts return to their initial state.
- Bistable operation with one coil: switching takes place when the coil is powered, but it does not stop when power is stopped, because a mechanical system blocks the return to the state initial.
- Bistable operation with two coils: a first coil is powered to switch the contacts and the return is not made by ceasing to power the latter. It will be necessary to power a second coil to cause a return to the initial state.
In this category, we offer our range of 12V and 24V relays, flashing units, timer relays, power relays, relays for tractors, for construction machinery, etc.
