Fog lights are special lights that must only be turned on under certain conditions. They contribute to good visibility and are only used in bad weather given their lighting intensity. Fog light regulations

Fog lights are subject to special regulations in the highway code, and the use of these lights in normal circumstances is prohibited. Fog lights must in fact be able to cut through the mist and be three times more powerful than a low beam light.

A 3rd category ticket with a heavy fine awaits those who do not respect the use of their lights,up to €150 and a loss of points on the license. The highway code, however, allows the use of these lights to replace low beam lights outside built-up areas, and on narrow and winding roads, and must be turned off when crossing with another vehicle.

Installing and changing your fog lights

Fog lights are generally already integrated into the light system of a vehicle. In fact, the law requires car manufacturers to equip all recent vehicles with this type of light. However, it is possible that your light is loose or damaged; to replace the part, you will need to know the exact reference, but also the size and voltage of the part.
