A little history...

It was in Belgium, in 1869, that the first direct electric current generator was created: the dynamo-electric machine , more commonly called a dynamo. In these times, the only means of producing direct current are batteries or accumulators, and their power is relatively limited. In 1871, Zénobe Gramme, the creator, submitted his invention to the Paris Academy of Sciences and started production the same year.
A few years later, in 1873 during the International Electricity Exhibition in Vienna, it was by accident that we discovered the reversible function of the dynamo. Indeed, it does not simply transform mechanical energy into electricity, it can also redistribute it.
Nowadays, most vehicles are equipped with a dynamo.

What is a dynamo?

Used to transform the energy of the motor into mechanical energy, the dynamo allows:

• to provide energy to recharge the battery
• to supply consumers with energy: windshield wipers, lighting, car radio, electric windows, etc.

This part is therefore fundamental to maintaining the proper functioning of a vehicle.
