A little history...

It was in 1834 that the American inventor and blacksmith, Thomas Davenport, manufactured the first direct current motor with the intention of being commercialized. Patented in 1837, these motors have not undergone any improvement or modification due to the high cost of batteries at that time.

What is the DC motor used for?

The DC motor can behave like a motor or like a generator. Which means that it can transform electrical energy into mechanical energy or vice versa.
Depending on the command made, the motor provides more or less torque. In other words, when not in use, the motor runs at constant speed. On the other hand, if a particular effort is required (as in the case of a tail lift), it adjusts its power to provide the energy necessary for the movement.
