The alternator produces electricity using electromagnetic induction. It is made up of four parts, including: the rotor (the rotating part), the stator (the fixed part), the diode bridge (channels energy from the stator), and the regulator (manages the excitation of the rotor to stabilize the voltage issued). All these parts represent the internal system that produces electricity through the rotation of the rotor. However, the rotor needs an external force to initiate this rotation. The alternator pulley is the part which allows this rotation to begin. The pulley, along with the drive belt, works together to transfer the rotational motion of the crankshaft to the alternator.
