Cheap new alternator - Standard exchange alternators

New Alternator

New alternator: cars, trucks, tractors, public works

For the part of History, the precursor of the alternator, Mallet, invented the Machine to produce alternating current. More than half a century later, Faraday turned a wire where an electric current circulated thanks to the magnetic field. One thing led to another and it was in 1882 that Sebastian ZIANI DE FERRANTI (1864-1930), an Englishman of Italian origin, invented the alternator as we know it today when he was just getting older. As an adult, he was 18 years old.

The use of the alternator on cars has become essential with the arrival of the electric starter. The electric starter needs a lot of energy to be able to drive the crown of the thermal engine in its rotation. The vehicle battery is therefore very stressed when starting the car. In fact, it not only allows the battery to be recharged by producing an electrical current slightly higher than that of the battery, but it also takes over in supplying the vehicle with electrical current when the engine is running to supply the various parts. requiring electricity such as headlights, lights or horn.

How does the alternator work and what are its components?

The alternator is an important part of the vehicle's electrical circuit. It is a device combining mechanical force and electromagnetic force. To combine these two forces, the alternator is generally divided into 8 distinct parts:

1-       The drive pulley.

2-       The centrifugal fan.

3-       The front flange.

4-       The stator.

5-       The rotor.

6-       The rectifier.

7-       The rear flange.

8-       The brush regulator.

The pulley serves as a connection and allows the rotational movement of the heat engine to be transferred to the alternator. This mechanical rotational force is then redirected towards the rotor which is located in the stator and which is made up of a winding wound around a core. The alternating current produced is then transformed into direct current using rectifier diodes. At the end of the journey, the current obtained is stabilized thanks to the regulator which makes it possible to obtain a voltage around 14 V.

What are the symptoms of alternator-related breakdowns?

In order to avoid any hassle when you are on the road, it is always a good idea to be attentive to the various signs that could alert us to an alternator failure. Here we will list the most common symptoms to consider:

-          The most obvious sign is when the battery light comes on when the engine is running, this can indicate irregularities in the voltage emitted by the alternator or a charging fault.

-        When your vehicle's lights or indicator lights dim or experience an irregular variation in their brightness.

-          If it is the mechanical parts that are affected, such as the ventilation system, a bearing or the pulley, you will hear squeaking noises or of friction of metal materials in rhythm with the engine enters during acceleration or deceleration.

-          A significant smell of burnt rubber warns you of a failure either at the level of the pulley which does not turn, a belt which does not lock not correctly on the grooves of the pulley or a damaged belt about to give way.

In some cases, alternator failures are repairable and spare parts are available for purchase on our site. However, there are situations where replacing all the faulty components could be more expensive than purchasing a new alternator.

In this category, we offer new alternators from the brands BOSCH, VALEO, CARGO, AUTEC, DUCELLIER, PARIS-RHONES, ETC. We offer models for all types of vehicles: car, 4x4, tractor, heavy goods vehicle, outboards, etc. with a 24-hour delivery offer.
